A Soldier's Manual

Lately I've been wondering what our soldier's manual looks like. For those of us who are Catholic we are soldier's right? We are members of the Church Militant. We have the Bible of course. We have the Catechism of the Catholic Church as well, but are either of these our soldier's manual? Perhaps, but how do we describe briefly the duties and responsibilities of a soldier? The soldier's manual, or perhaps field manual should get to the heart of this. Here's are some thoughts that I have.

First and forth-most, every soldier is to be a trained medic. Its easy to see there are large number of causalities, both among the civilian population and among one's fellow soldiers. A soldier should carry with him at all times a well stocked first aid kit. This kit should be packed with the Spirit and Corporal Works of Mercy in sufficient supplies to treat any and all causalities.
